Mrs. Julia Turpin Smith, age 92 and longtime resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 surrounded by familly. She is preceded in death by her husband Alton B. Smith and parents Louis A. and Maggie Whittlesey Turpin. She is survived by her children, Douglas Smith, Richard Smith (Tineke), Sarah Smith Johnson, Hilary Smith (Diana), Philip Smith, grandchildren, David and Daniel Johnson and Brianna Smith, two great-grandchildren Ewan and Eliana. Mrs. Smith was an Episcopalian and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a devoted wife of 63 years to Alton and remembered by her childrend as a loving and gracious mother. Funeral services will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
