Mrs. Oliva is survived by her children, Frank (Francisco) and Mary Katherine. She was blessed to have many special friends in her life and at the hour of her death.
God blessed her with 101 years of life. During her lifetime, she was especially proud of being a 1943 graduate of Convent of Mercy High School. A special highlight in her life was working for the Alabama Maritime Commission where she was selected to co-sponsor launching the Liberty Ship, SS Cabins. Mrs. Oliva would often tell people that her greatest blessing and achievement in life was her marriage and her children.
Mrs. Oliva also had the utmost admiration and respect for the Sisters of Mercy. They were always there for her during the trials and tribulations of her life. Another blessing was the friendship and support of Father John Lynes and Eucharistic minister Mary Jane Menton.
The family is eternally grateful to her caregivers who were most compassionate. She left this world with an awesome smile as Dr. Michael Gamotis made sure of that.
Funeral services will be graveside on Tuesday, May 12th at 11:00 at Magnolia Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
