Born and raised in Mobile, Laurie was a graduate of Murphy High School. She was known for her loving heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Laurie's greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her parents, Sandra and Cordell Caminas; her husband, Kevin Gilchrist; her children, Heather Young (Erin), Abbie Gilchrist, and Cordell Gilchrist; her stepchildren, Ernest and Sarah Gilchrist; her siblings, Jennifer (Scott) Seale and James (Julie) Caminas; her beloved grandchildren; and her niece, cousins, and friends.
A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family.
Laurie will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
