Lawrance Lenard Cleary

July 11, 1936 - Oct. 26, 2016 Larry Cleary was born in Memphis, TN to Charles and Lena Cleary. The family moved to Mobile when Larry was a child and he spent the rest of his life here. Larry married Cleo Perez fifty-eight years ago and together they raised five amazing children- Laura McElderry, Rance Cleary (Maddie), Pam Friedlander (Scott), Lynne Smith (Stuart) and Charles Cleary (Julie)- as well as eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Larry graduated from McGill Institute and went on to receive degrees from Springhill College and the University Of South Alabama. Larry also served his country in the Army and the Army Reserves. He was a proud and active member of St. Dominic's Parish for fifty years where he served fourteen years as facilities manager of St. Dominic's after his retirement from ERS as an engineer. Larry was a wise and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great-grandfather, coach and friend who was greatly admired and will be dearly remembered by all. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles, Jr. A memorial mass will be held at St. Dominic's Monday, Oct. 31 at 11 am followed by a reception at 11 am in the Murphy Center at St. Domnic's.
