Leo Rodgers Sluder

Leo Rodgers Sluder - born April 19, 1915 in Calvert, AL, and a lifetime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away on November 25, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was baptized into the Baptist faith as a young girl and remained a faithful member throughout her life.

Mrs. Sluder was preceded in death by her husband, James Stewart Sluder; her sons, James Alfred Sluder and William F. Sluder; doaughter, Barbara Sluder Gaines; parents, Emma Hammond Rodgers and Leo Hays Rodgers; four sisters, Fannie R. Langley, Catherine R. Perkins, Ruby R. Covington, and maggie Ruth Rodgers; and brother, Richard R. Rodgers.

She is survived by her loving and devoted grandchildren, William A. Sluder (Krissy), James S. Sluder (Crystal), Jessie A. Sluder, James R. Gaines, Danny R. Gaines (Kristie), Margie S. Creighton (Howard), Francine S. Lott (Gary), and Melissa Sluder; son-in-law, James Robert Gaines; daughter-in-law, Vickie Murray Sluder; great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Archie Griffin and Rev. Bill Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Gaines, Tony Sluder, James Sluder, Tony Bishop, Jesse Sluder, and Jim Gaines. Condolences may be offered at www.mmgfuneralhome.com.
