Lewis Leroy Childs

He is survived by his beloved children Mike Childs (Tammy), Teri Childs, Denise Stewart, and Christopher Childs; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

Lewis is preceded in death by his parents Lewis Sr. and Alda Rose.

In life, he was an accomplished man who answered the call and served his country in the United States Air Force before establishing himself as a respected Service Foreman with Bell South. He also served proudly as the elected potentate of the Abba Shrine Temple and was a past master of Athelstan Lodge No. 369, a member of the Scottish and York Rite bodies, an officer in Alabama York Rite College No. 51 and the Red Cross of Constantine, St. Bernard Conclave, and active in the Al Hassan Grotto.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 31 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Rd., Mobile, Alabama 36695. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Shriners Childrens Hospital.
