Lillian Francis Coursey Estis

July 26, 1918 – April 5, 2020
Obituary of Lillian Francis Coursey Estis
IN THE CARE OF

Radney Funeral Home - Mobile

Lillian Francis Coursey Estis, age 101, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020. Lillian was born July 26, 1918 in Wilmer, Alabama. She was the best example of the woman described in Proverbs 31. She was born into a family of farmers and learned to be a hard worker at a young age. She was 1 of 9 children. Lillian was an amazing seamstress, who not only made clothes for her family, but for many of the people in the community. She experienced so many new things in her life, such as, electricity, indoor plumbing, the first rocket into space, and too many more to name. She raised eight children, made their clothes, cooked three meals a day, kept up an amazing house and yard; all these things were important to her, but the love she had for the Lord came first. We love her and will miss her but we are so blessed to know she is in Heaven celebrating with no more earthly pains.

Lillian is survived by her children, Carol Hinton (Bobby), Janet Jordan (J.V.), Sonja Carter (Freddie), Terry Estis (Linda), Joel Estis (Cathy), Douglas Estis, and Gary Estis; brother, Virgil Coursey; sister, Eulice Driskell; 21 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Comer Estis; son, Darrell Estis; daughter-in-law, Jackie Estis; parents, Paul and Ada Coursey; brothers, Carlos Coursey, Lionel Coursey, and Benny Coursey; sisters, Gladys Brubaker and Inez Gadrosich, granddaughter, Judy Lovett; and great-granddaughter, Deanna Estis.
