Linda Jones Robitzsch, born October 1949, in Mobile, AL, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, with family by her side. A 1967 C.F. Vigor High School graduate, Linda earned a bachelor’s degree in 1971 and a master’s degree in 1976 from the University of South Alabama. In December 1970, she married Carl Robitzsch. Linda’s teaching career spanned Holy Family Catholic School, Northside Christian High School, and the Mobile County School System, followed by private tutoring at St. Paul’s Episcopal High School and instructing at the University of South Alabama.
Linda cherished her family, local politics, travel, music, and the saltwater lifestyle. She relished boating, beach days, intracoastal adventures, and was adept at fishing and savoring blue crabs. Linda baited her own hook, peeled her own shrimp, and when Linda finished picking a plate of Blue Crabs, there was nothing left for the ants.
Preceded in death by her parents, George Howard Jones Sr. and Anne Mae Brewer Jones, Linda leaves behind her beloved husband of 55 years, Carl Robitzsch; sons Michael (Jennie) of Chunchula, AL, and Steven (Jamie) of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren Cole and Avery of Auburn, AL; brother George Howard Jones Jr. of Mobile; and many dear relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
Honoring her wishes, Linda will be cremated, with her ashes scattered in the Gulf. A Celebration of Life is anticipated, with details to be announced later. Instead of flowers, please consider tax-deductible donations to the “Jag Gals Bobby Marks Memorial Scholarship” at the University of South Alabama, Development and Alumni Relations, 650 Clinic Drive, TRP III, Suite 1500, Mobile, AL 36688-0002.
