Reverend Linwood Arthur Lewis

Linwood Arthur Lewis, born September 19, 1935 in Mobile, AL, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2020. Reverend Lewis had been in the ministry of The United Methodist Church for 62 years. He served as the Director of Blue Lake United Methodists Assembly in Andalusia, AL for 18 years. His last appointment was at Coden United Methodist Church. Reverend Lewis was a devoted family man and a devoted disciple of the Lord.

Reverend Lewis is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Lewis, mother, Myrtle Lewis, father, Reverend John I. Lewis, Sr. and brother and sister-in-law, John I. Lewis, Jr. and Fern Lewis. He is survived by his son, Donald Lewis, brother, Victor G. Lewis and eight sisters; Lorraine Brown, Marlene Walsingham (Harlan), Nelda Brown, Nina Newman (Lamar), Linda Vaughn, Myrtle “Tiny” Steele (Duval), Harriet Simmons (Lamar), and Debbie Barbour (Tony).

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery, Dauphin Island Pkwy., Mobile, AL

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Coden UMC, Blue Lake United Methodist Assembly and The United Methodist Children’s Home.
