Lizzie Mai Shelton – born November 22, 1919, a native of White Bluff, TN and a resident of Mobile, AL since 2006, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in a local health care facility. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Mrs. Shelton attended Christ United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel J. Shelton. She is survived by her daughter, Sara (Nelson) Russell, Mobile, AL; granddaughter, Nancy Leigh Alexander; two great-grandchildren, Avery Allan Alexander and Cody Russell Alexander, all of Mobile, AL; sister-in-law, Christine Steele, Charlotte, TN; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from Christ United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will be held after the service. Funeral services and burial will be in Dickson, TN. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers and friends, Terry Williams, Lucille Poole and Virginia Johnson.
