Lorene Kelly Carter

Lorene Kelly Carter, 91, a life-long resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 23, 2018. She was a member of Cody Road Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Carter retired from the City of Mobile Police Department after 26 and a half years of service as a clerk.

Lorene was born in Birmingham, Alabama to her parents, John and Maggie Kelly, on December 18, 1926. She was married to her loving husband, James Henry Carter for 63 years. Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her daughters, Sandra Carter (Ronald D.) Bolton and Margaret P. (Peter Gianoutsos) Gould; grandchildren; Ronald David (Christie) Bolton, Jr., James Paul Bolton, Phillip Michael Bolton, Christopher Gianoutsos, and Cynthia (Kenny) Neese; 14 great-grandchildren, and 11 great, great-grandchildren, as well as other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carter will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile. Interment will immediately follow in Pine Crest Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Radney Funeral Home Wednesday evening, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
