Lovette Cook Seitz found her rest into the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ, early Monday morning, February 12, 2024. With the maiden name of Cook, she was affectionately named “Cookie” and often called Miss Cookie. Lovette “Cookie” Seitz was a native of Mobile and grew up near Florida Ave. where she attended Murphy High School and most of her university studies for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from South Alabama. In addition, Lovette attended Huntington College and University of Oxford in England.
Lovette was a friend to all and many were drawn to her eager, joyful, Christ-driven approach to life. A devoted educator to so many young students over her 20+ year career in elementary school education and campus administration with Mobile County School District and a private school district, Miss Cookie was always pleased to hear updates and life stories from her past students. Miss Cookie married her true love, Ed Seitz, in 1982 and lived in West Mobile with her two dogs and multiple cats.
Lovette was the daughter of Martin T. Cook (MT) and Bessie Cook, and sister to Charlotte Ann Mitchell, all of whom preceded her. Lovette leaves behind a loving husband, Ed and step-daughter Amy Green (Adam) with two sons, Tyler and Andrew. Lovette’s niece Laurie Allen has three boys Evan (Karely), Cooper (Aneecia), and Garrett Allen as well as three grandchildren (Orianna, Bjorn, Kaizen). Nephew Bret Mitchell (Carmel) with three children Niki Callahan (Stephen), Dustin Mitchell (Tenisha), and Kristin Mitchell, as well as eight grandchildren: Raleigh, Aliyah, Charlotte, Tatum, Piper, Nicodemus, Regan, and Silas. Her departure has left a hole in our hearts only He can fill.
The family cordially invites all friends and family to Pine Crest Cemetery, Saturday, February 17, 2024 for visitation from 12-2 and graveside burial at 2p.m. with a meal of fellowship to follow. Please join us as we remember our dear loved Lovette/Cookie who always remains in our hearts.
