Born in Mobile, Alabama, Buddy spent the majority of his life in the Mobile area and graduated from University Military School with the Class of 1960. He dedicated his career to the homebuilding industry as owner and president of M.D. Price Builder, Inc., and was respected by many throughout the community for his leadership and commitment to the profession. He proudly served multiple terms as President of the Home Builders Association of Metro Mobile throughout his career. In retirement, Buddy and Jane enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome and spending time at the Gulf.
Buddy was a strong Christian man whose faith guided the way he lived his life. He was known for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the genuine way he treated others. Often described as a gentleman and a man of the highest character, Buddy leaves behind a legacy of integrity, generosity, and love for his family and community.
Above all else, Buddy loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who took immense pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Price; his sons, Lance Price and Chris Price (Jana); grandchildren Ashton Matey (Michael) and their son, Nathan; Lindsey Acreman (Alex), who are expecting their first daughter; Alyssa Hamilton (Gannon) and their son, Kasey James; Kathryn Price; Abigail Price; Benjamin Price and his fiancée, Anna Carlisle Worrell; and Alexis Price.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with the family receiving friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service, also at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saraland, Alabama.
The family is grateful for the love and support shown throughout his illness and for the caregivers from Cornerstone Caregiving who cared for him with compassion and dignity.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of the many cancer survivors within Buddy’s family.
Buddy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
