

Mae was born to Samuel Rayford Murphy and Nita Redman Murphy on July 9,1928, in Napoleon, Mississippi. She married Maxwell Seale on May 2, 1946. Mae and Maxwell had three wonderful boys, and the family relocated to several cities and countries throughout Maxwell’s extensive military career. They eventually settled in Mobile, Alabama, where Mae has spent the last 66 years.
In her later years, Mae enjoyed being involved in the Red Hat Society. She stayed very active with the Senior Citizen scene in Mobile and enjoyed participating in events. She was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church. Mae was a very loving soul. She was generous with her time and was the epitome of kindness. Mae was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Maxwell Seale; two sisters, Kate Little and Dot Adams; and one great-grandchild, Garrett.
She is survived by her three sons, Alvin Seale (Mary Ann), Thomas Seale (Mary), and Ronald Seale (Linda); seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Mae will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following.
