She later was a waitress at the Captains Table on the Causeway. She stated many times in her final years how much she missed working and meeting people from everywhere.

She’ll be remembered for many things , but some of her greatest attributes were her ability to love, to feed and to house all in need.

We would like to express our deep gratitude and love to the Little Sisters and staff for loving our mother in such a special way. Words cannot express how precious it was to witness your God given gifts in preparing our dear mother for Heaven. We love you all deeply.

I worked with Ms.Jewel at the Dairy Queen in Prichard. It was my first job during the summer. She was such a sweet lady but a strict teacher. Ms Jewel and Ms Leona, who were sisters-in-law, were wonderful to work with. I worked summers and after school for almost three years. At graduation Ms Jewel gave me a birthstone necklace which I still have. She will be greatly missed but Heaven has gained a beautiful specialty rose. She was such a hard worker. May you RIP Ms Jewel.
