Margaret Kurkulakis Andrianopoulos, age 92, of Bay Minette, Alabama passed away on Friday March 16, 2018. Margaret was born December 4, 1925 in Mobile, Alabama to Maria Ladas Kurkulakis and Sam Kurkulakis.
Margaret is survived by her son, Dino Andrianopoulos; her daughter, Mary Andrianopoulos; her sister, Evangeline Collins; two nieces, Tina Trotter and Eleni Hytoff; and her beloved rescued cat, Hollywood, whom she dearly loved.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Paul “The Greek” Andrianopoulos; her parents, Sam Kurkulakis and Maria Ladas Kurkulakis; and a sister, Irene Theofiles.
Margaret was an amazing woman and even though she was blind she could still crochet. She was known for her baklava and other Greek pastries, which she shared with the community. She was a witty, sharp, and sometimes bossy woman. Margaret worked as a payroll clerk for the Malbis Bakery for many years and at the Gulf Lumber Café with her husband. She is a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 50 S Ann St, Mobile, Alabama 36604. A funeral service will occur Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Mobile, Alabama 36605.
