Margaret Padgett Templar, 92, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. She was born to Earnest Gray Padgett and Velma Woodward Padgett on September 7, 1925 in Jacksonville, FL, then relocated with the family to Mobile. She was a graduate of Murphy High School. Margaret retired as the Chief Operator of Communications with Southern Craft at International Paper Company after over 40 years of service. She was a hard-working and incredibly sharp woman, who enjoyed playing the stock market in her spare time. She is greatly loved and will be missed.
Mrs. Templar was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Velma Padgett; her husband, William Charles “Bill” Templar; one daughter, Brenda Joyce “Bunny” Lee; a grandson, John Hughes; one sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Lee; one daughter, Stephanie Hughes; one grandson, David Hughes; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members.
Visitation for Margaret will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. with a graveside service immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
