Dec. 19, 1924 - July 10, 2016 Marie Elaine (Malane) Collins died on July 10, 2016, at 91 years of age, at Springhill Manor in Mobile, Alabama. She was born on December 19, 1924 in New Roads, Louisiana, daughter of Chloe LeFebvre White and Louis W. White and sister to the late Joanne White Smith. She was married for 28 years to the late Jason Haydel Collins, MD and resided in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is survived by her three brothers Wayne White, Charles White and Louis (T Boy) White, six children, Denise Collins Bernard, Marie Elaine Collins Hebert, Janine Collins Bordes, Lynette Collins Walker, Jason Haydel Collins, Jr., MD, and Charles Louis Collins, MD, as well as 29 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. Malane graduated from LSU with a degree in Music and studied at the Peabody Conservatory. In addition to her musical talent, she was an award winning artist producing numerous paintings, drawings and jewelry designs. After hurricane Katrina, she returned to New Roads, Louisiana and most recently moved to Mobile, Alabama. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mobile, Alabama, and interment at False River cemetery in New Roads, Louisiana.
