Marjorie Tanner Chavers, age 85, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away surrounded by her family, peacefully at home on August 22, 2019. God graced all who knew Margie. A devoted wife, mother and friend, she epitomized selflessness and compassion. For over 35 years, she taught children at Wilmer Elementary and Wilmer United Methodist Church. Margie loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed travel, antiquing, reading and an occasional penny wage in Mississippi. Life changed when she lost the love of her life, Mr. Bill. He's been waiting too long for her lima beans and cornbread. And she's been waiting too long to oblige.
Margie is survived by 2 sons: Stoney Chavers (Kathy) and Michael Chavers; 3 grandchildren - Sara Chavers; Michael T. Chavers, Jr.; and Barr Gladstone Chavers.
The family extends special thanks to Belinda, Cynthia, Lillie and Kindred Hospice. Their kindness will be rewarded by God. Visitation will be held at Wilmer United Methodist Church 2-3 August 25 with funeral to follow in sanctuary. TIn lieu of flowers, the family family request donations to Wilmer Cemetery Fund: P.O.
