Martha Pauline Loden King
May 29, 1929 – November 27, 2019
Wife, Mother, Mother -in- Law, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, and Matriarch of the King Family left her earthly home to enter her eternal home to be with her Sweetheart on Wednesday, November 27,2019.
Pauline King was born May 29, 1929 to George and Ruby Lee Loden in Haleyville, Alabama. She was the younger sister of Oliver Eugene Loden and the older sister of George Lehman Loden. She was a dedicated wife to Gerald W. King for 62 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers.
Gerald and Pauling King were married May 10, 1957 and spent the next 62 years loving and caring for each other, while raising their family. Their long and loving marriage was something to be marveled by all who had the opportunity to know them. Gerald was her whole world and it was not the same once he passed away in May. Six months was just too long to be apart, so she took her last breath peacefully the day before Thanksgiving. This way they would never celebrate a holiday apart. Our hearts are broken that we have lost our Maw Maw, but we are at peace that she is with Poopsie where she was destined to be.
She was a dedicated mother to her two daughters, Belinda Moss and Christy Cordrey. She kept her two sons in law, Bob Moss and Stan Cordrey, on their toes. She was the loving grandmother to Wanda Estes, Brandi Moss, Kristan Cordrey McIntosh, and Troy Cordrey. She was the proud great grandmother to Brittany Moss, Emily Moss Hall, Cullen Estes, Jennifer Estes, Madison Moss, and Kyler McIntosh. She was the doting great-great grandmother to Hayzlee Hall and Lillian Moss.
Pauline King loved her home and was dedicated to taking care of all who came her way. She loved to cook and always made sure that everyone had plenty to eat. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and would sit for hours watching them play and telling them what they could do better. On Fridays, you would find her at the Beauty Shop getting her hair fixed for church on Sunday and then to CiCi's pizza for lunch. When asked what she wanted to do for her 90th birthday, her response was, "go eat at CiCi's" and that is what we did. The elders from Azalea City actually called and sang Happy Birthday to her while we were there. That simple act meant the world to her. She talked about it many times.
This world will not be the same without her. She will be missed but not forgotten. Her family is at peace knowing that she is reunited with the love of her life where she can finally be with him again. We know we will see her again when we all get to Heaven, but until then we LOVE you and thank you for being you. We will always have the memories at Ruffin Drive in our hearts. We are all better off from having you in our lives.

A celebration of life will occur Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 10000 Celeste Rd, Saraland, Alabama 36571.
