Marty had a long career in the law, having worked as a legal secretary for M.A. “Bubba” Marsal for 34 years before retiring to care for her husband, Al. Marty loved Mobile and Mardi Gras, rarely missing a single parade in her younger years. Many years you would find her Christmas tree decked out in purple, green and gold as soon as advent was over. In close second to Mardi Gras, she loved Christmas, making her famous homemade fudge and divinity for family and friends every year, and the world’s best gumbo for Christmas dinner. She was a loving and giving Nana, Grandmarty and Grammy, so generous that her Christmas gifts often rivaled Santa himself. She was also a devoted friend to many, but she had a special place in her heart for Linda, Carol Lee and Annie.
She is survived by her children Michael T. Manley (Miranda), Michelle Manley Thomason (Tony), Janet Manley McKinney, Deborah Manley Barile (Gary), and Charlotte Holloway (John); grandchildren Allison, Helen, Anna, Jonathan, Leslie, Bryan and Leanne; great grandchildren Anna, Adams, Eden, Grace, Grayson, Noah, Shelby and Courtney; her sister Nancy March Scott; nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie March and Muriel Gray Broneske; her husband, A. B. Manley, Jr., and her grandchildren Olivia Grace and John Baker Manley, as well as her beloved pets Buster and Blue.
She will be interred privately alongside her husband at Pinecrest West Cemetery.
