

Mary Hassell Burch passed peacefully at home into eternal life on Epiphany Sunday January 7th, 2024, in the presence of her loving husband and children during the hour of Divine Mercy. She had received all the last rites of the church including viaticum and the apostolic blessing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Irwin Hassell and Hortense Hinton Hassell. She was a native of Laurel, Mississippi, and a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama where she attended Old Shell Road Elementary school. Mary was a proud graduate of Murphy High School and the University of Alabama with a BS in Human Nutrition, Dietetics. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Andrew D. Burch Sr. M.D., their nine children, Andrew Damrell Burch Jr. M.D. (Lisa Bosarge Burch M.D.), Marianne Haas (Roger Gordon Quinn), Catherine Elizabeth Burch, Barbara Mjor, Susan Burch Waltman (James L. Waltman, Jr.), Ernest George Burch M.D. (Ashley Muscat Burch), Daniel Christopher Burch M.D. (Kristie Blanchard Burch M.D.), Thomas Michael Burch M.D. (Annette Mizuguchi M.D), Patricia Lockhart Burch M.D. (Matthew Seese), 15 grandchildren, Andrew Damrell Burch III (Casey), Matthew Christopher Burch (Jennifer),Leland L. Davis RN (Katie), Jonathan M. Davis M.D. (Jessi), Ronnie Andrew Tisdale, Katrine Mjor, Alexandra Mjor, Mary Catherine Waltman Gorham (Robert Coursey Gorham), James Lowery Waltman III, Laura Claire Waltman Ramos (Nicolas Pedro Ramos), George Joseph Burch, Laura Anne Burch, Anna Claire Burch, Mary Caroline Seese, and Matthew John Seese II, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Friday at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
