Mary Katherine Butler

Mary Katherine Scrimpshire Butler, was born July 16, 1919, and died February 18, 2012. She was a native of Gerard, AL, a long-time resident of Prichard, AL, and was the daughter of the late Ira and Johnnie Scrimpshire. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Butler, Sr. Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Virginia Butler Snider and Martha Butler Husley; brothers, Ira Scrimpshire, Jr. and William Scrimpshire; and sisters, Doris Lister, Joyce Weatherby and Margie Pitts. She is survived by one son, John W. Butler, Jr. and his wife, Rebekah; one daughter, Betty Butler Lewis; grandchildren, Johnny Snider, Billy Snider, Gayle Lewis Wilson, Leanne Lewis, Eddie Lewis, Eric Lewis, Kathy Husley Michel, Connie Husley, Kim Husley Hart, and Elizabeth Butler Hogue; brother, J. C. Scrimpshire; and sister, Marie Goodman. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family would like to express appreciation to Mobile Nursing and Rehabilitation and Odyssey Healthcare for their kindness and excellent care. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Gary Wilson from Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 24, 2012, with interment at Pine Crest Cemetery.
