Mary Geneva (Brady) Dreaden

Mary was born to Alonzo Gaines Brady and Essie Hinton Brady on December 28, 1938 in Ellisville, Mississippi. She was raised in Mobile, Alabama and on March 3, 1961, she married the love of her life, Donnie Ray Dreaden. The family moved to Huntsville, Alabama where they raised their two sons.

Mary was a woman of God. She was strong in her faith and wouldn’t be deterred. Mary was a member of Hillwood Baptist Church in Huntsville and later became a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, and “Mimi”. Mary loved her family unconditionally and always made herself available to them.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, AG “Bill” Brady and Essie Hinton Brady; her beloved husband, Donny R. Dreaden; son, David Ryan Dreaden; sisters, Ina Bee Taylor and Betty Ann Middleton; and one brother, Sammy Brady.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Barry Dreaden (Kristin) and Scott Dreaden (Lori); grandchildren: Hunter Dreaden (Katelynn), Mary Emily Sockwell (Austin), Anna Katherine Hess (Evans), Ella Dreaden (fiancé Will), and Davis Dreaden; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Sockwell and Kesley Sockwell; as well as other cherished family and friends.

A graveside service will be held for Mary on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery, on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, Alabama.
