Mary Rudulph Ehman received the gift of life on August 29, 1919, and she received the gift of eternal life on May 23, 2014. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to John Fericks Rudulph and Willie Vernon (White) Rudulph. Mary lived most of her 94 years in Mobile, Alabama, living and raising her family in the same house for 65 years in the Spring Hill Manor neighborhood. Mary was proud to be a 1936 graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, and a 1941 graduate of Montreat College in Montreat, North Carolina. Mary and Frank Ehman were married on April 6, 1942 at the Government Street Presbyterian Church in Mobile, and then in 1946 they became active members of the Spring Hill Presbyterian Church in Mobile, where Mary has remained a devoted member ever since. Mary cherished her Rudulph family's heritage in St. Mary's, Georgia. She has many close and dear members of her family and extended family who will miss her, and who will remember her gift of hospitality and how much she loved cooking the most delicious meals for everyone to enjoy at her dinner table. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Frank C. Ehman, Sr. Mary is survived by her daughter, Sharron Phelps, and granddaughters, Kim and Jenifer Phelps all of Andalusia, Alabama; her son Frank Ehman, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Flower Mound, Texas; granddaughter, Aren Ehman, of Austin, Texas; and grandson Frank Ehman, III and his wife, Ashlee, and great-granddaughter, Emmerson Ehman all of Dallas, Texas; and her son, John Ehman of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Mary's family is especially thankful for all the wonderful caregivers at the Grace Presbyterian Village in Dallas. During the past eight years that Mary lived there, they provided love, support and abundant blessings for her each day. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Mary's family suggests contributions be given in her memory to The Caring Fund at the Grace Presbyterian Village, 550 East Ann Arbor Avenue in Dallas, Texas 75216. Or, invest an hour or so of your time to brighten up someone's day, or volunteer to support a cause that is dear to your heart. Mary would love that!
