Mary Ellen Glass, 97, life-long resident of Mobile, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Murray Glass, and her son, Jimmy Mack Glass. She is survived by her nephews, Wayne (Suzanne) Shotts and Russell (Marise) Shotts; her niece, Nancy (Frank) Moffit; and a host of other family and friends.
Mrs. Glass was born in Frisco City to David and Ola Sawyer. She grew-up in Mobile. She retired from Mobile Infirmary as a switch board operator. She was a person of happy character, full of life, and had a great sense of humor.
A graveside service for Mrs. Glass will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Glass asked that everyone make donations to their favorite charity.
