

Mary Elizabeth Johnson, age 99, of Semmes, Alabama, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary lived a life grounded in faith, kindness, and love for her family.
Born on January 1, 1926, in Avera, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Ernest and Ella Rogers. On April 20, 1946, she married Brandon Whitsett Johnson, and together they shared 30 years before his passing on January 18, 1977.
Mary made her profession of faith at the age of 12 and was a devoted member of Semmes First Baptist Church for more than 70 years. She found joy in cooking for her family, was a talented seamstress, and loved spending time in her yard tending to her plants.
Mary was blessed with five children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brandon Johnson; her children, Patricia Moss and Barbara Jackson; her grandchildren, Michael Walker and Berta Daman; and her great-grandson, Bryson Moss.
She is survived by her children: Ronald Johnson (Janice), Pamela Englund, and Donald Johnson; her grandchildren: Ashley Daigle (Danny), Brad Johnson (Lisa), Kimberly Moss, Brandon Moss (Tara), Lauren Cochran (Rick), and Brian Englund; and her great-grandchildren: Rhett Daigle (Maddie), Cole Daigle, Emma and Oliver Ellison, Carson and Carlee Moss, and Benjamin and Elliott Cochran.
A funeral service will be held on December 4, 2025, at Semmes First Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m., with burial immediately afterward at Semmes Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to her special caregivers, Ann Swindell and Patti Roach, to dear friends Ann and Wayne Faust, and to Gentiva Hospice Care.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of humility, faith, family, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
