

Mary Louise Jordan – passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 29, 1920 in Waco, Texas to the late Lula Craig Oliver and Alfred Lee Branch. She attended Baylor University and moved to Mobile in 1947 where she was employed for a short time at the VA office downtown. She fell in love with and was married to the late Carmen C. “Jim” Jordan for 55 years, raising two daughters. Two of the many joys they shared were entertaining and dancing. Mary was a fabulous dancer. She and Jim were also members of a square dancing group for many years. A longtime member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church, she was active with Church Circle, U.M.W., and was involved in a church couples club with Jim for over 50 years, a group that was very dear to them. She was also a member of the Mobile Garden Club and loved to putter in her yard. Mary is survived by her daughters, Carol Jordan of Mobile and Janice Taylor of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Tim Jordan of Mobile, and Todd Wheeles and Brittany Wheeles of Orlando; great-grandson, Slade Jordan of Mobile; and many friends. A visitation will be held in the parlor at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the 12 noon memorial service.
