

She was a lifelong and devoted member of the Church of Christ, teaching women's Bible classes for many decades, and a retired English teacher. Born in Canoe, Alabama to Lucile Watson Hall and Andrew Arthur Hall, she was the granddaughter of Dr. James Thomas Jefferson Watson and Nancy Jane Mims Watson, and Andrew Jackson Hall and Elizabeth Brown Hall. She graduated from Flomaton High School, Valedictorian, and attended David Lipscomb College, Nashville, TN. She received a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama, summa cum laude, and later attended Tulane University and Troy State University, where she received a Masters in English Education. She retired, an accomplished and well-loved teacher, from Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery. She was a member of the Alabama Chapter of the Magna Charta Dames, the Mobile Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and The Shakespeare Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Wilson Vickery, Sr., a retired USAF major, former B-24 pilot, and veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include a son, William Wilson (Jackie) Vickery, Jr. of Cleveland, GA.; daughters Nancy Vickery (Tom) Clark, of Casper, WY., Celia Vickery (Mack) Lewis of Mobile, and Emily Hall Vickery of Pensacola; two sisters, Carolyn Hall Conn of Canoe and Ann-Cile Hall (Glynn) Key of Spanish Fort; grandchildren, William Cameron Clark (Dr. Liz) of Casper, WY., Thomas Hayward Lewis of Mobile, Erin Vickery Rhoades of Cleveland, GA., Jennifer Hall Vickery (Adam) Tiller of Dahlonega, GA., and William Tyler Vickery of Cleveland, GA.; seven great-grandchildren; niece, Dr. Carolyn Hall (Joseph) Ringhoffer, of Mobile; and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from Regency Church of Christ, 501 University Blvd. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Allen Eldridge, minister, will preside. Graveside service and interment will be in The Hall Family Cemetery, Canoe, AL., at 1:30.
Pallbearers are Cameron Clark, James Hall, Jr., Hayward Lewis, John Love, Samuel Love, Jr., Joseph Ringhoffer, and Tyler Vickery.
