Mary Ruth Clayton Price

Mary Ruth Clayton Price, age 92, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Mary was born February 18, 1926 in Tupelo, Mississippi to Lilie Lena Rial Clayton and Benjamin Mack Clayton.

Mary is survived by three daughters, Louise Beech, Loretta (Norman) Scruggs, and Mary (Richard) Pettus; grandchildren, Christine Redmond, Clinton Ray Beech, Jason (Amanda) Scruggs, Jeffrey (Molly) Scruggs, Bonnie (Scott) Shelly, Alicia (Nathan) Herron, and Rachel Pettus; great-grandchildren, Madison Redmond, Morgan Redmond, Allison Scruggs, Hudson Scruggs, Sarah Grace Shelly, Hannah Shelly, and Taylor Shelly, brother Gwyn Whitaker and many loved special nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Price; father, Benjamin Mack Clayton; mother, Lilie Lena Rial Clayton; sisters, Bonnie Whitaker, Elizabeth Martin, Maudine Green, and Marie Strange; brothers, Bud Clayton, Ben Clayton, and Jim Clayton, children Lynda Ruth Price and John Allen Price:Son-in-law Johnny Beech.

A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Airport Boulevard Baptist Church, 6301 Airport Blvd, Mobile, Alabama 36608. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens, 626 Pierce Road, Mobile, Alabama 36608. Rev. J.T. Wright will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers are Jason Scruggs, Jeffrey Scruggs, Clinton Ray Beech, Scott Shelly, Nathan Herron, and Deacons of Airport Blvd Baptist Church.
