Jane was born on April 3, 1950, in Mobile, Alabama, where she was born and raised. She attended Bishop Toolen High School and later attended AIB College of Business.
Family was one of the greatest treasures in Jane's life. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her mother, Thelma Wasden Strong of Fort Morgan, Alabama; her three children, Erin Durden (Melissa) of Garner, North Carolina, Allan Ritchie (Jamie) of Leon County, Florida, and Jason Ritchie of Panama City, Florida; and her beloved grandson, Jasik Lands (Jacey) of Garner, North Carolina.
She is also survived by her siblings and their families: Robert Strong (Bobbie), Lauren Strong (Justin) of Pensacola, Florida, Chris Strong (Ryan) of Pensacola, Florida, Greg "Buddy" Strong of Alabama, Jill Strong of Alabama, and Seth Strong of Alabama, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory. She is also survived by her beloved fur babies, who brought her endless joy and companionship.
Jane treasured the simple joys of life. She loved living on Cape San Blas, Florida among all things tropical... She loved the beach, coffee, and bird watching, with a special fondness for hummingbirds, and loved feeding the seagulls French fries after dialysis at the St. Joe pier. She also shared a lifelong bond with a special group of friends who affectionately called themselves " The Magnificent 7 Girls." Their friendship was a beautiful part of her life and a testament to the lasting connections she made with those around her.
Jane was preceded in death by her father, Gregory S. Strong, Jr.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her lifelong friends, and all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the special place she held in the lives of so many.
