Mary E Rivers

Dec. 18, 1921 - Aug. 24, 2016 Mary Elizabeth Martin Rivers, age 94, of Robertsdale, passed away on August 24, 2016, in Johns Creek, GA. Mary was a native of Mobile and 1938 graduate of Murphy High School. She was a US Navy veteran of WWII.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Dickson Rivers, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Martin, Sr., brothers William Charles Martin Jr., Percy Martin, Fred Martin, and a sister, Mrs. Janet Martin Jackson. She is survived by sisters Mrs. Ruth Green of Fairhope; Mrs. Bernice Blackman of Mobile; and Mrs. Susan Turberville (Russ) of Fairhope. Survivors also include a daughter Nancy Carol Hunley (Alan) of Alpharetta, GA; a son Clyde Everett Rivers (Betty) of Selma; and daughter Mary Susan Lewis (Larry) of Kingwood, TX. Grandchildren include Brian Lee Hunley of Johns Creek, GA and Jeremy Arthur Hunley of Stephenson, VA; Margaret Anne Schilder (Andrew), Clyde Everett Rivers III, and Porter Lee Rivers, all of Birmingham; Jennifer Diane Lewis of Kingwood, TX, David Ryan Lewis (Elizabeth) of San Angelo, TX, and Michael Dylan Lewis of Dallas, TX; and great-grandsons William Andrew Schilder and John Everett Schilder, both of Birmingham.

Family will begin receiving friends on Wednesday, August 31 at 9am in the Chapel at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, with a memorial service at 10am and interment to follow. The family requests that donations in Mrs. Rivers name be made to the Robertsdale United Methodist Church in Robertsdale, Alabama.
