Maud Ellen Brown Shirley

Mrs. Shirley was a graduate of Murphy High School and a member of Moffett Road Baptist Church. She loved her family, her church and the ladies in her Sunday school class. She will be remembered for her love of family and her passion for working with flowers.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy S. Hunter; one brother, Cantrell Brown; and one sister, Joyce Holloway.

She is survived by her best friend and devoted husband of 62 years, Troy Eugene “Gene” Shirley; two sons, Troy E. (Shelly) Shirley, Jr. and Dale C. (Diane) Shirley; her sister, Hazel Hill of Pensacola, FL; her grandchildren, Bobby (Amanda) Hunter, Joy (Dell) Ledbetter, Brian (Jenny) Hunter, Sarah Frances Shirley, and Seth Shirley; her great-grandchildren, Haley, Valarey, Craig, Hunter, Jordyn, and Brianna; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Shirley's family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff of Brennity Memory Care of Daphne for their loving and compassionate care the past two years. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
