Beloved Wife and Mother, Melinda Kay Sayre left this world peacefully on August 10th 2021. She bravely battled COVID19 related Pneumonia for 12 days before succumbing to the illness. Melinda was 51 years old at the time of her passing and leaves two grown children, Christopher Evan Sayre and Lela Erin Herring, and her husband Christopher Lee Sayre behind.
Melinda began her life in Fairhope, Alabama and was born on March 31st 1970. She was an avid and accomplished equestrian in her early life. She was married to Chris on May 17th 1997 and soon had their son Evan. Melinda was the owner and proprietor of two fully restored and historically recognized Shotgun Houses that she managed on AirBNB. She was recognized among the best hosts on the service with a Super Host designation that she was very proud of. Melinda loved to travel and was able to visit Ireland, Italy, Canada, and Costa Rica in her international travels and loved to spend summertime in Maine. Melinda homeschooled her son Evan from 4th to 12th grade and saw him graduate this year. She also was instrumental in help him achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Melinda was close to her family especially her daughter Lela with whom she enjoyed playing Animal Crossing with.
Melinda is survived by her husband Chris, her children Lela and Evan, her sister Glenda Fortner and her mother Linda Baldwin. Her Service will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11am.
