Merry Lou Cecilia Lucia

Merry Lou Lucia, 79, of Mobile, passed away December 19, 2014 after battling cancer for five years. Born on December 24, 1934, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Augustino and Anna Marchiafava, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, Joseph Anthony Lucia, Jr., as well as her son, John Anthony Lucia, and her brother, Michael Marchiafava. She is survived by her five children, Cecilia Marie (Harry) Archer, Rosanne (Craig) Olmstead, Joseph Anthony Lucia, III, Barbara (Patrick) McDonough and Michael Angelo (Rachel) Lucia; three sisters, Shirley Duplessis, Esther Lee (Melvin) Simon, and Lorraine Marchiafava; one brother, Donald (Chris) Marchiafava; thirteen grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Merry Lou had a passion for square dancing and cooking, and was known for her exceptional Italian food and hospitality.

Visitation will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, 2053 Government St., on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 9:30 am, with the memorial Mass following at 10:30 am. Rev. John G. Lynes will officiate.
