

Merton Edward Buck, Sr. – A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died Friday, January 7, 2011, at his home. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. Mr. Buck was a charter member of St. John United Methodist Church. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be greatly missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Jenner Buck and Armitta Louise Fulford Buck; and two sisters, Eleanor Kamphius and Vera King. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Stella Davis Buck; four children, Merton Edward (Sharon) Buck, Jr., Clyde Allen (Paula) Buck, Linda Buck (Ted) Knaggs, and Debra Buck; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Monday, January 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Allen Buck and Ikee Lee Koen. Active pallbearers are Merton Edward Buck, III, Lucas Wayne Medley, Edwin Louis Quint, Krystofer Jenner Thompson, Kyler Michael Thompson, and Kenneth Earl Davis.
