

Dr. Merwyn George Adlington, age 71, native of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Dr. Adlington is preceded in death by his parents, Christopher G. and Margaret S. Adlington. Dr. Adlington was a Chemist at Ciba Specialty Chemicals retiring after over 33 years of service. He received his Bachelor of Science from The University of Michigan, PhD from The University of Toledo and was a Post Doctoral Fellow at Kent State for two years. Dr. Adlington was a tremendous family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and as someone who never met a stranger. Dr. Adlington is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Linda May Reitzel Adlington, children, Karrie Eileen Adlington Rukamp (Brian), Deanna Leigh Adlington Robinson (Jeffery) and Ryan Todd Adlington (Laura). He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Champagne, sister-in-law Sherry Reitzel, brother-in-law Dana Reitzel (Janet) and grandchildren, Alyssa and Samantha Rukamp, Ryleigh Adlington and Mason Robinson. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org. in Dr. Adlington’s memory.
