Michael "Mike" W. Kittrell, Sr., beloved son, father and grandfather, passed away on July 15, 2013, with his family by his side. He was 66 years old. He graduated from W.P. Davidson High School and was a standout athlete in both football and baseball. Respected by many, Mike was voted Mr. Davidson High School during his senior year. He was also a graduate of the School of Business at the University of Alabama. After graduation Mike returned to Mobile and the family business, Kittrell Auto Glass, of which he was owner.
Mike was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and loved the Lord.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Braxton L. Kittrell, Sr. and his nephew Scott S. Kittrell. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley A. Kittrell; son, Michael W. (Joy) Kittrell, Jr.; granddaughter, Megan S. Kittrell and grandsons, Michael W. Kittrell, III and Jack R. Heyer; mother, Mary Francis B. Kittrell; step-daughter, Ashley (Jeremy) Heyer; brothers, Braxton L. (Julie) Kittrell, Jr.; Steven G. (Carol) Kittrell; many other nieces, nephews, and dear friend Kelly L. Booth.
Mike will be forever missed, but will live on each day in our hearts and memories.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 19, at Christ United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 6101 Grelot Rd., Mobile, AL 36609.
