Myrtle Verneuille Lewis – A native and resident of Mobile, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John I. Lewis, Sr.; and her son, John I. Lewis, Jr. Survivors include ten children, Lorraine L. Brown, Rev. Linwood A. (Phyllis) Lewis, Marlene L. (Harlon) Walsingham, Nelda L. (Shelton) Brown, Nina L. (Lamar) Newman, Linda L. Vaughn, Myrtle L. (Duval) Steele, Victor G. Lewis, Harriet L. Stacey, and Debbie L. (Anthony) Barbour; 30 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held from Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Monday, June 13, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street.
