She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bill, son Brad and grandson Josh, all of Dauphin Island and by her brother Wayne Gash of Cincinnati. Nancy was Honor Queen of Jobs Daughters Bethel 18 in Omaha. A graduate of Wayne State Teachers College, she had a 20 year career teaching middle school in Virginia, Illinois, and Mobile County. A longtime member of the Dauphin Island Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Nancy served as an EMT for Dauphin Island's Fire and Rescue Department for 18 years.
There will be a Celebration of Nancy's Life at Dauphin Island Baptist Church, 910 Chaumont Avenue, Dauphin Island, AL at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, October 21, 2011. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to her Memorial Fund at Dauphin Island Baptist Church, P.O. Box 156, Dauphin Island, AL 36528.
