Norma Lou Horner Cox, age 75, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019. Norma was born March 20, 1943 in Jenks, Oklahoma to Elva Mildred Coughorn Horner and Roy Cecil Horner. She lived her life to the fullest, putting Jesus Christ first and foremost as Lord and Savior. Norma drew strength and Joy from her faith. She loved her daughters and grandchildren unconditionally and made sure they knew it every moment of every day.
Norma is survived by her daughters, Tonya (Scott) Hopkins and Natasha (Ben) Redding; grandchildren, Phylise Hopkins, Hunter Redding, Hayden Redding, Holden Redding, and Hayley Redding; nephew, Rick Lear; and niece, Deedra Rice.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hunter Cox; her parents, Roy Cecil Horner and Elva Mildred Coughorn Horner; and sister, Billie Dean Cochran.
A visitation for Norma will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodridge Baptist Church, 2700 Schillinger Rd S, Mobile, Alabama 36695. She will lie in state Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the celebration of life at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery West, 1599 Snow Rd S, Mobile, Alabama 36695. Dr. Mack Morris will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers are Ronald Cox, Hunter Redding, Hayden Redding, Holden Redding, Ben Redding, Scott Hopkins and Harlan Howell.
