Olive Young Bolen

Mrs. Inez Y. Bolen- age 89, beautiful child of God, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was born May 10, 1923, in Mobile County, Alabama and went peacefully to be with Our Lord from her home on October 12, 2012. Mrs. Bolen was a longtime member of Tanner Williams United Methodist Church and was retired from the Mobile County School Board. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Allton Bolen; parents, Ollie and Louman Middleton; father, John Young (at a very young age); brothers, Angus Young (Mabel) and Billy Middleton (Joy); sisters, Edith Lockhart (Sidney), Ruby Gabel (Ed), Jessie Fitts (Billy), and Claudia Watson (Nolan); as well as her beloved Uncle Frank Maples and his wife, Aunt Mae. She is survived by her brothers, Norman Middleton (Carolyn), Bobby Middleton (JoAnn), Kenneth Middleton, and Ricky Middleton; her children, Annette B. Roberts (Bill), Sandra B. Lamm (Robert), James A. Bolen, Jr., John M. Bolen (Lilly), and Noretta Greene (Eddie); 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. The family wishes to thank Ms. Martha Thompson, her devoted caregiver, and the staff of Infirmary Hospice. Funeral services will be held from Tanner Williams United Methodist Church on Monday, October 15, 2012, at 12 noon with Reverend Bruce Fitzgerald officiating. Music will be provided by her beloved nephew, Eddie Dean Smith, and beloved great-granddaughter, Llyndze Holderfield. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Palestine Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Lamm, Tony Lamm, Wesley Bolen, Tyler Bolen, Stuart Bolen, and Billy Roberts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tanner Williams United Methodist Church or Spring Hill Avenue United Methodist Church.
