

Ouida Rae Harten Nolan, age 89, passed away peacefully at The Blake in Pensacola, Florida, on February 18, 2026. She was born in Repton, Alabama on February 5, 1937 to William Jesse and Carlie Virginia Harten, the youngest of four sisters.
Ouida was raised in Monroe County, Alabama and graduated from Frisco City High School. She was married to Ben D. Nolan, Jr. for 47 years until he passed away in 2001. Ouida and Ben had four children who were the center of their life.
Ouida was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to her beloved family, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her enduring friends. Ouida enjoyed being a home maker, quilting, gardening, dancing and was an avid reader and a life long learner. Ouida cherished her twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren who were a constant source of great joy and happiness.
Ouida was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ben and her oldest sister, Nondie Robinson. She is survived by her children Nancy Virginia Gordon (Bob) of Fairhope, AL; Ben D. Nolan III (Betsy) of Lake Toxaway, NC; Barbara Annette Andrews (Hamp) of Loxley, AL and Ouida Melissa Riley (Bob) of Fairfax, VA. She is also survived by her two sisters, Lynette Christensen and Barbara Nelson.
Ouida’s 12 grandchildren are: Nolan Gordon, of Houston, TX; Gerritt Gordon, of Fairhope, AL; Hannah Gordon of Daphne, AL, and Stuart Gordon of Mobile, AL. Matt Nolan, Catlett, VA, Emily Nolan Joseph of Alexandria, VA, Riley Nolan of Philadelphia, PA and Corey Nolan of Denver, Colorado. Melissa Rose Feinberg of Spanish Fort, AL, Billy Andrews of Huntsville, AL, Benjamin Nolan Andrews of Charlottesville, VA and Bobby Riley of Arlington, VA.
Ouida has 16 great grandchildren who are: Natalie Gordon, Mia Gordon, Hunter Gordon, Wyatt Gordon, Grayson Gordon, Johnny Gordon, Oak Gordon, Harbour Gordon, Ollie Joseph, Morgan Joseph, Nolan Feinberg, Chloe Rose Feinberg, Ann Claire Andrews, William Hampton Andrews V, Eva Jane Andrews and Benjamin Nolan Andrews, Jr. She had many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
Ouida was a long-time member of Theodore United Methodist Church and later Fairhope United Methodist Church.
Ouida’s family thanks the staff for their kind care and compassion during her time at The Blake in Pensacola, Florida.
Visitation begins at 1:00pm and Memorial Service begins at 2:00pm followed by a graveside service at Pine Crest Cemetery at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama 36605 on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
