Patricia Clara Ehleringer Metty, known as Pat, Mom, and Granny, grew up in the small town of Currie, MN. She was the mother of three, grandmother to seven, and great-grandmother to fifteen, whom she prayed for faithfully by name. She left Minnesota in the 1950s to pursue a nursing career in California. She married Cleo in 1959 and they spent 67 amazing years together traveling the United States. Their love was a beautiful example of devotion and faithfulness. Her strawberry and rhubarb pies, homemade rolls and pull-aparts are legendary. She always made room at her table and opened her heart and kitchen whenever someone came to visit. Her life was marked by selfless serving in many areas of her community. A retired registered nurse, she loved people through her tender care for decades. A long-time parishioner of St. Bridget's Catholic Church, she was active in their ladies group and a Eucharistic minister as well. She spent many years volunteering as a seamstress at St. Mary’s Children’s Home where young people benefitted from her skills and kindness. She also spent countless hours serving at the Curiosity Shop and Food Pantry (Catholic Social Services) touching lives and helping people as a devotion to her Lord.
She is survived by her husband Cleo, children Julie (Metty) Kailimai and husband Neil, Kirk Metty and wife Kellee, and Cyd (Metty) Nunley and husband Jim; grandchildren Rande Kailimai and wife Katie, Brian Kailimai, Abby (Metty) Stalsbroten and husband Dave, Jonathan Metty and wife Stacey, Nathan Metty and wife Mary, Jessica (Metty) Faulkner and husband Spencer; Chelsea Nunley; great-grandchildren Jacob and Everleigh Kailimai; Esther, Wesley, Josephine, Phoebe, and Margaret Stalsbroten; David, Matthew, and Hayden Metty; Emma, Henry, and Cora Metty; Harrison Faulkner. Hers was a life well-lived.
