Paula Hoffman Strauss - wife of the late John L. Strauss, president of the former L. Hammel Dry Goods Company, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011, at age 86, of natural causes. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Hammel Strauss, Cardiologist in Los Angeles, Berney L. Strauss, Attorney at Law in New Orleans, and his wife, Ebie Taylor Strauss, grandson, John Hammel Strauss and granddaughter, Virginia Marion McDuffie Strauss. She was the daughter of I.J. Hoffman of Warner Brothers and wife, , Minna Bronson Hoffman, of New Haven, Connecticut. She lived in Mobile all her adult life. Graveside services will be in Spring Hill Avenue Temple Cemetery on Friday, September 30, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements by Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606.
