Paulette Taylor Wright, aged 78, a faithful servant of the Lord, went to Paradise on March 11, 2025. Polly was born in Newport News, Virginia March 4, 1947. She graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile in 1965 and was married to her high school sweetheart, William Michael Wright, for 60 years. Throughout her life, Polly loyally walked alongside her husband as he served in the United States Army for 22 years where she volunteered with many organizations serving people.
Polly was a member of the Azalea City Church of Christ and especially valued serving with her sisters in Christ and spending time with them. She touched many lives through the giving of her time, friendship, counsel, gifts, and love. Polly was gracious, forgiving, tender-hearted, a prayer warrior, encourager, and she loved life. She loved traveling, sitting on a porch swing, reading, every kind of crafting, and she was the best cook.
She found purpose and great love in her work at the Center for Reproductive Medicine in Mobile, a perfect place for someone who knew firsthand the struggles of infertility, and who loved children. Polly also found a mission in encouraging women in jail, prison, and newly released women through Focus Ministries in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she devotedly wrote letters strengthening women in Christ. She found great pleasure in making sure the people she loved had everything they needed, whether that be a requested homemade banana pudding or help with a project.
Polly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, and spending time with them was her most precious joy. Polly gave with her whole heart. She had the biggest smile and the best laugh and she will be so missed by so many. Stories of Polly’s generosity, heart, and love have reached her family over the past two weeks from so many people- some that they have never met.
Polly, “Granny” to her grandchildren, was a precious jewel. A scripture passage she treasured in her heart, and marked in her Bible was John 10:27-28, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
Polly is survived by her husband, William Wright; her children, Margie Busby (Brian) and Wes Wright (Kristi); her grandchildren, Kamryn Busby, William Busby (Makayla), Victoria Mundt (Kolby), Hannah Wright, Mikela Shick (Kyle), Elizabeth Wright, John Wright, one great-grandchild, Beau Busby; her sisters Rita Hamilton, Dale Bolton, Roxanne Daniels (John), brothers Bobby Jordan (Tammy), and Kevin Taylor (Janine); devoted best friend of 46 years, Joann Brown, many nieces, nephews, and sweet friends.
Polly was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Taylor; mother and stepfather Mildred and Jesse Jordan; one sister, Angel Bolton; and her beloved infant son. Upon her death in this life, she gained a gift much greater than she ever gave, and we know we will see her again. We miss her so much, but we have comfort in Psalm 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”
Friends are invited to visit from 9 to 10am on 03/18/2025 at Pine Crest Funeral Home- 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile.
