Quentin Orlando Meadows, D.V.M. – age 57, born July 25, 1954 in San Bernadino, CA and a longtime resident of Mobile passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012. As a military child, Dr. Meadows had seen much of the world by the age of 15. He attended high school in Virginia, excelling as an athlete. Upon graduation, he attended Tuskegee Institute where he joined the marching band became an accomplished musician. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in 1976, a Master’s in 1979, and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1985, all from Tuskegee. Dr. Meadows eventually settled in Mobile where he established Eight Mile Animal Clinic, operating it for many years. He was a certified counselor in drug and alcohol addiction, and as such volunteered his time as a sponsor and mentor with the Salvation Army. He will always be remembered as a driven individual who was successful in all of his life’s pursuits. Dr. Meadows was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Iris V. Dixon Meadows. He is survived by his children, Aaron Patrick Meadows and Kelsey Q. Meadows; parents, Patricia Holloway and Frank Meadows (Neta); brother, Timothy Meadows (Traci); sister, Sherry Lynn Booker (Randy); best friend, Robin Rocket; nieces nephews, many other relatives and friends, including Carla Givens. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the service hour. Honorary pallbearers will be Robin Rocket, Carla Givens, Brian Rivers, Gary Spraggins, Zeb Bonner, and Stephanie Stallworth.
