Renée Diemert Ladnier Boltz, 77, passed away in Mobile, AL on Thursday, December 19, 2019. Renée was born to Lawrence Elliott Ladnier, Sr. and Bertha Diemert Ladnier on March 2, 1942 in Mobile.

Renée graduated from Bishop Toolen High School in 1960 where she served as a senior class officer. She graduated from Providence School of Nursing in 1963 as a Registered Nurse. She entered the Army in January 1964 and completed the Army Nurse Corps Officer Basic at Fort Sam Houston, Texas commissioned as a Captain. She was assigned to Fort Jackson, South Carolina and then to Bremerhaven, Germany in 1965. She served as the head nurse in the the Surgical Ward of the base hospital.

After being honorably discharged, she began her civilian career at Medicenter Hospital and retired from Mobile Infirmary with over 30 years of service. Renée was very passionate about her profession and cared greatly for her patients. When she passed, she was an officer in the Retired Nurses Organization. She was very involved in the alumni activities for her alma mater. She thoroughly enjoyed the monthly “Bishop Toolen Girls” luncheons. Renée was a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she served as a Lector, Eucharistic minister, Parish Council member, School Board member and Finance Committee member. The church was very meaningful in her life and she was a constant participant in many activities there.

Renée was very patriotic and was an active pollster for all elections over the past several years.

Renée joined her parents, Lawrence Elliott Ladnier, Sr. and Bertha Diemert Ladnier; and brother Darrell Walker Ladnier (Yolanda Loraine).

She is survived by her two loving children, Kara DeAnne Barlow (Joel Travis) and Dwight Elliott Boltz (Leslie Renee); five grandchildren, MaryGlynn Emerson Barlow, Jax Michael Rush, Tanner Renee Barlow, Hayes Caroline Rush, and Case Nicholas Rush; four brothers, Lawrence Elliott Ladnier, Jr. (Susan Heinzelman), Stephen Wallace Ladnier (Karon Marie), David Louis Ladnier (Joyce Gresham) and Marc Emerson Ladnier ( Rebecca Icenhour); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other cherished family and friends that she loved dearly.

Renée adopted both of her children through Catholic Social Services and assisted both children in identifying and forming relationships with their respective biological families.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Boykin Blvd. in Mobile, AL with funeral mass immediately following. There will be a reception at Pine Crest Funeral Home following the service at church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Edmundite Missions www.edmunditemissionsenterprises.com.
