Retha James Parden born on May 20, 1934, in Jasper County, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert “Bruce” Parden Sr. of 62 wonderful years. Retha is Also preceded in death by her son, Robert Bruce “Bobby”Parden Jr.; her parents, William Benjamin James and Lessie Pauline James. She is survived by her sisters, Shirley (Kenneth) Ulmer and Linda (David) Horn; her beloved children, son Douglas (Kaye) Parden, and daughters Laura (Burl) Barnett and Karen (Don) Robinson; 6 Grandchildren, Kristen (Brett) Hurley, Chase (Ashton) Robinson, Brittney (Tyler) Mims, Courtney Barnett, Kallie (Cory) Rawls, Chandler Robinson; 10 Great Grandchildren, Ella Parden, Emerson and Mary Elliott Hurley, Kolton and Kinley Rawls, Grace, Bruce and Brooks Mims, Charlotte Robinson and Wells Robinson. She attended Crawford Baptist Church, Semmes AL. Mom spent her days researching Ancestry and spending time with her family that she loved so very much.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's or the Shriners, both were close to her heart.
