Richard Ronald Brown

Richard Ronald Brown – a 92 year-old native of Mobile, Alabama and resident of Semmes, Alabama passed away at his home on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Mr. Brown graduated from Murphy High School and was a Korean War veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a crew chief. He retired from CSX Railroad after 37 years of service as an engineer, earning the nickname “Railroad Brown”. Mr. Brown loved gardening, shrimping, fishing, woodworking, restoring old automobiles, and making home improvements. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing life stories.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, William Marshall Brown and Inez Elizabeth Smith Brown; brothers, Ted Brown and Bill Brown; and grandsons, Bryan Brown and Stephen Ronald Ferenczi. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Bobbie Ann Brown; children, Rick Brown, Beth O’Brien, Ronny Brown (Wendy), Lynne Brown, and Denise Sims; grandchildren, Christina Smith (Russell), Angela Huffman (Josh), Jeremie Grose (Kathleen), Nathan Grose (Erin), Brandon Brown, Cody Brown, Meagan Ann Holley (Chase), Blake Allen, Amber Blacksher (Vaughan) and Seth Sims; sister, Betty Jo Cobb; 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; many other relatives and friend.

Graveside services will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at Pine Crest Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Condolences may be offered at www.pinecrestfuneralhome.com.
